worth getting up for: january

slingshot cash in jon's living room

Worth getting up for in January: oh my god, a million shows; two great covers shows, one of Townes and Hank covers, one of Neil and Bruce covers; watching the video of the crowd at the Avetts’ show starting Paranoia in B-flat Major without Seth and Scotty; Part 5 of Frank Turner’s US Social D/Lucero tour diaries; Jason & the Scorchers live, Jesse Malin live, Grant Hart live (and feeling 18 all over again); the Decemberists’ The King Is Dead and the Smith Westerns’ Dye It Blonde; big big plans; no panic attacks in the month of January!; the Moondoggies and Frontier Ruckus live; 2 weeks to pitchers and catchers; the first time I listened to Frank Turner’s Love Ire & Song was about a year ago, driving to DC to see Brian Fallon and Dave Hause with Ash, and man, that album still fucking kicks; surf punk bands from Denton, TX; whiskey; having epic Rolling Stones shift; weird and unexpected networking success; late night conversations; visits from people I love; the Axis at large; the Cowboy.
