worth getting up for: october

Worth getting up for in October: the National at Memorial Auditorium, and well-won photo passes; Two Cow Garage and Dave Hause (rhymes with pause) at Kings; Ha Ha Tonka at the 506, finally and worth the wait; Cameron McGill & What Army; 47,000 other shows; the North Carolina State Fair; fall baseball; the unstoppable Oregon football machine of death and That Fine American President Ricky Stanzi; Late Night With Roy, even though we didn’t go, because basketball season; Miami at Duke; FALL WEATHER; pumpkin beers; Queen’s Greatest Hits; the new Kathy Reichs mystery; saying and hearing the hard things; [redacted but I was damn well pleased with myself]; sandwiches at the Fed; coffee; Roy Halladay’s no-hitter; making connections; awesome publicists; pork satay stew in the crock pot; crock potting it up in general; napping on cool days with the windows open.

It was a hard but satisfying month, I think.
