A January tradition by now, this benefit show pitting covers of two bands against each other. (Dylan vs Petty ; Springsteen vs Young ; REM vs U2) It is always for a good cause, and it is always fun. This year it was the Beach Boys and the Beatles getting the versus treatment, and it was excellent. Everybody was great, but the top highlights for me were Small Lions absolutely nailing the harmonies on “I Get Around”, and Goodnight, Texas blowing through a ten song medley that fused together perfectly.
