Rocking my world in terms of inspiration this week:
- My friend Zannah takes amazing macro toy photographs. (A long time a ago she wrote a guide to taking photos of small plastic things which I still think stands as a pretty damn good macro photo guide.)
- But Does It Float, which is an — aggregator? I guess? Of amazingness.
- Typo/Graphic Posters. Mmmmm, typographie.
- Two for the Road, which describes itself as “an editing experiment based on the visual similarities that can be found when photos are presented side by side”. It’s compelling, to say the least.
- 7 Mistakes To Avoid As A Photographer.
- John Waters’ 10 Best Pieces of Advice for Functional Freaks. I’m from Baltimore; listening to John Waters even when he’s weird is in our blood.
- Austin Leon’s sketchbook makes me need to start using my paper journal more.
- Stephen Alan Yorke’s Morgan Road photographs.
I’m up at my folks’ place this weekend; off to watch a bad baseball team in a little while, and tomorrow down to Hamden for HonFest. Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery.
