Rocking my world in terms of inspiration this week:
- I’ve been collecting alphabets lately: Tom Gauld’s Noisy Alphabet; Facial Hair alphabet; ASL alphabet in matchbooks; Picture alphabet for keyboards; Robert Samuel Hanson’s Unfinished Alphabet; Glyphish’s clean sleek little iPhone app icons.
- This image. ALL THOSE CAMERAS <3. And the patent plans for the Rolleiflex and these Instamatics.
- I’ve been back-reading Chookooloonks slowly over the last week or so and all her images are just gorgeous. I’d love to be able to shoot portraits like she does.
- The prospect of not one, but two sets of partial season tickets for baseball teams: the same tickets we had for Carolina last year (a 15-game package that we use for the five weekend ACC series), but also a nine game Bulls package. Figure in the times we’ll see the Bulls without tickets in advance and the times we’ll go to Kinston to see Alex White and Timmy Fedroff, and it’ll be another year of epic baseball watching.
I’m off to Raleigh on a work night later, but like I said a few weeks ago, it’s worth it: Micah Schnabel’s playing a solo set, and BJ from American Aquarium opens. If you’re in the NC and feel like seeing an excellent show tonight, it starts at 10:30 at Tir Na Nog on Blount Street.
