american aquarium @ the pour house

I almost included this in last week’s inspiration post, but I realized I wanted to pull it out and talk about it on its own, because it really hit home with me.

Day19 is the photoblog of pro photographers Jeremy and Claire Weiss, and I’m utterly compelled by it — both by their photographic work in specific (they were responsible for this image of Ryan Ross, which might be my favorite photo taken this year, and I find the ways that they approach creative commercial photography fantastic) and by the way they use their blog, post photos, talk about their work and their lives.

But this post, about how they got the final shot used in part of Converse’s fall campaign, struck me even more than usual. That way to find inspiration, to fly a little wild and to take the risks, appeals to me as a photographer in a huge way. Trusting the process. Trusting that your photographer(s) knows what they’re doing; I may not always look like I know what I’m doing, but I almost always do. Or at least I’ve got an idea.

So. I found that post really interesting, and validating. Trusting the process, not being afraid to take an unforeseen step. Stop thinking and go.
