Freelance photographer, holder of season tickets to the University of North Carolina baseball and women’s basketball teams, Master of Library Science, civil servant. I like rock music, sweet tea, pedal steel played well, Fuji 1600 ISO film, the Band & the Rolling Stones, old cemeteries, vintage dresses, HOKA trail runners, my Chippewa motorcycle boots, houseplants, rangefinder 35mm film cameras and Holgas, North Carolina beaches, pitching and defense, Gunnar Henderson, and chili cheese hotdogs.

If you’re interested in having me shoot your band (or a band you represent), write about an album you released, or are an out-of-towner looking for someone to play with in Chapel Hill, you can email me at asdonkar AT gmail.

My life list is here. My 100 Foods, 100 Counties list is here. My project to eat a hot dog in every state of the US is here.

Look, I’m kinda spoiled since I moved to the south, and I really can’t cope with any weather that requires me to wear shoes any more, ok? … If the people can’t come to North Carolina, then we must bring North Carolina to the people! — John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats, 01.03.08
