Rocking my world in terms of inspiration this week:
- Terrible Yellow Eyes. In honor of Where the Wild Things Are opening today, this is a blog that’s a curated project of artist submissions, tributes to Sendak and his masterpiece of a book. There’s some amazingly clever, beautiful, and stunning work here. Plan to spend at least an hour staring at it.

- If Charlie Parker Was a Gunslinger, There’d Be A Whole Lot of Dead Copycats. This never fails to awe me.
It’s been a brutally long week — October is the start of our new fiscal year at work, and yesterday some policy came down that made the public crazy and my coworkers cranky and perturbed — even though Monday was a federal holiday, so inspiration is thin on the ground. I’m hoping that a Megafaun show tonight and the State Fair tomorrow and Built to Spill Sunday will give me back some of my equilibrium, because right now I feel completely right-brained and overwhelmed by the day job.
