The nice young man pictured above (as well as the rest of the Mountain Goats) was on the Colbert Report Tuesday night; last time I saw him in person, he was playing a free solo show for 150 people in the Durham Armory. So that television — technically online clip — viewing was a little surreal and delightful.
I’m wicked proud of John; look at that handsome visible face of our local music scene, all growed up and representing on national TV, and doing it with a smile, a laugh, and a great line.
